Systemplays.com is your online source for sports betting picks and handicapping tools for the experienced and novice sports bettor alike.

My name is Doug Fitz, the founder and creator of systemplays.com. That is my real name and I live in Las Vegas. I have been betting sports since 1985.

Many years ago, I realized that success in sports betting could only come by leaving emotions completely out of handicapping and replacing it with proven, statistical based analysis and research. With the ideas, research and data contributed by myself, Vince Licciardi and Greg Martineau; systems based on relevant and realistic statistical data were established. We have researched every single system going back at least 2 years for validation and confirmation of their results. Our systems were developed then researched based on the parameters we felt were meaningful and important. Our systems are the basis for the majority of the plays posted on this site. Any game which shows any negative factors which may outweigh the system's relevance or just simply makes it too dangerous to play is not considered or posted as a play.

We have developed systems for college and pro football, college and pro basketball along with baseball. I personally wager on these selections as well. Please don't confuse our systems with trends or angles because they are completely different and trends/angles often do not hold up over periods of time. Trends and angles rely on a particular team's performance matched up against various and often irrelevant factors and are derived very often from the "backfitting" approach, namely; manufacturing a trend based on random past occurences. Our systems work for any teams within those systems' parameters and the proper research has shown them to be non-random situations.

We will give you these plays completely free with no strings attached. Our motive is simply to establish and maintain a solid reputation and winning percentage. We will never promise or claim ridiculous 70-80% winning percentages because those claims are fairy tales no matter how good you are or what form of handicapping you use. Our records; good, bad or anywhere in between are always prominently posted on the site and every individual play is posted and remains on the site for your reference until that sport's next season begins. We do not force any plays. If nothing comes up then we will not give out a play simply for the sake of making a play. On the other hand, certain days may produce several plays. Please remember that our plays are based on solid, proven statistical results.

The results are posted with number of units won or lost as well as the actual won/loss record. For example, a 4-2 record in football with the standard -110 price would show a total of +1.80 units; 4 wins= +4.00 units, 2 losses= -2.20 units for a net +1.80 units. All football and basketball plays are based on the standard -110 pricing unless otherwise noted when posted. Win/loss records can be deceptive, especially in baseball where plus prices can easily add up to a large profit with a losing win/loss record. When we won the below listed MLB run lines in 2006, the actual won/loss record was something like 13 games below .500 but the units won was in the area of +32. You can see very easily that units are the key to a true gauge of how you are really doing profitwise.

Speaking of profit, I recommend that you bet absolutely no more than 5 % of your bankroll ( 2-3 % is usually the right amount ) on any 1 game. Bet the same unit amount on each game basing your units on the above 2-5 % portion of your total bankroll at the time the play is made. If you play more than 3 games in 1 day, I think it's also a good idea to cut your wager amounts 40-50 % of the normal bet on each game. This prevents a bad day seriously hurting your bankroll and a good day still maintains your profit. When speaking of money management, you always have to consider losses as your main focus of attention. If that were not the case and you assumed everything as winners then money management would probably never enter into betting strategy. This is unrealistic obviously. I recommend that you never bet ANY moneyline of –150 or higher in any sport or event and you will never see any play of -150 or more on this site.

All baseball plays given will be based on both listed pitchers. If there is an off pitcher, the play will be listed as no action ("NA").  I will not post any baseball plays that are -150 or higher.

The plays are independently monitored but our records and units are accurate and always current on this site. As I stated above; the records, units and all the individual plays are kept on the site under the pages designated for each sport until just prior to that sport's next season so you can check all the previous season's plays for whatever sport you would like to follow.

In addition, I finished in 2nd place in the 2009 Las Vegas Review Journal NFL Challenge with a record of 47-36-2. The contest featured 10 contestants making 5 plays every week against the spread throughout the regular season with our plays posted every Sunday in the LVRJ sports section. The contestants consisted of well known handicappers, LVRJ sports writers/editors and the Sports Book director at the Las Vegas Hilton.

Systemplays will make every effort to list our plays in a timely manner.

Our record speaks for itself and I pledge our picks will never be posted for sale in any manner or form.

I would like to thank James Rompel who helped design and maintain this site. This endeavor would have been impossible without his time and assistance.

Please keep our name in mind. I hope you are pleased with our results. Thank you.

Much Success,
Doug Fitz
